I suppose you an export a QuickTime movie of your final film and take that into Apple Cinema Tools, if you have access to it. You can then conform the 24 fps film to 23.98 with no quality loss. This will be slightly slowing things down, so your duration will change. The audio will also be affected, but with a change this small, you may not need to pitch correct..

If a small duration and audio pitch change (pitch can be post corrected in software if necessary) is acceptable to you, this is a very quick and painless solution, as Cinema Tools works instantaneously.

When you render the title, you are playing back a composite image of the background and title, instead of the original media files. If you change the background, you need to re-render. Is that what you are asking?

As per other Avid forums, latest Yosemite has issues with Avid Artist panels. Avid is aware and working with Appke to find the cause and solution. No fix other than downgrading

Are you, by any chance running the Creative Cloud Desktop app (in the menu bar) at startup.

I have been having all sorts of freezes with that running while on an ethernet network. If I quit or run with wifi, I am fine. (I am on a Westmere Mac Pro, not a new Mac Pro).

It doesn’t need to be running at all to work with Adobe apps. You just need to let it phone home once a month.

Should be fine, if they handle it correctly. Check your levels on scopes or in the Color Corrector.

If the production company is using FCP 7, as Shane stated..they can’t really be working native. If they are converting the raw footage to Apple ProRes (likely), you can easily work with that in Avid. Avid DNX is nice, but if they have to convert it for you, it just adds a level of complexity to the workflow. In my experience, many FCP only places don’t usually know how to deal with Avid DNX and cause gamma shifts, etc. Just another thing that can get screwed up by an assistant working the overnight shift. Since you are on a Mac, Pro Res is considered fully native and you can AMA link and consolidate into Avid.

Find out what they are doing at their end.

If they are going through Resolve and they know what they are doing, maybe it’s worth having them create Avid DNX media for you. If not, and they have to use Quicktime or Compressor to export, I’d rather just use Pro Res than take my chances that they will do the conversion correctly. Avid can ingest that easily.

After linking, consolidate the footage. this will make it Avid managed media, which won’t lose its links.
