FCP 5 doesnt work with Qmaster.
Its there for Compressor, which does. -
StageTools gets the nod for me too.
No rotation in the Avid Pan and Zoom, which is key for me…

The audio in a DVD is multiplexed into the same file as the video…thats why there is no audio file you can access.

The Audio TS folder is always empty…its not used for normal DVD’s.
You need a program that can open a DVD (or VOB) file and turn it into a Quicktime movie in a codec you can edit with.
One such program I have had success with is DVDXDV
There are others programs that do this, but this is the only one that I can personally vouch for. It works well

Describe the procedure you are using to make subclips. Everything is working fine here.
I mark an in and an out in the Viewer, then press cmd+U (or go to Modify/Make Subclip). I can change the name of the subclip without affecting the master clip.

Betacam SP is an analog format.
Betacam SP is always interlaced. There is no ’24p’ or any other progressive frame rate available to work with. There is no way to record on Betacam SP progressively.What the heck is an Aurora LS? The only Aurora capture cards I know of are the Pipe family, the Igniter family and the Fuse.

I dunno. I see where you are coming from, but in 11 years of broadcast editing I have only had to work with an image sequence a couple of times. I don’t think its high on the feature request list or they would have implemented it. Since the capability is built into Quicktime it couldnt be that hard.

the quality setting is meaningless (and non functional) with an uncompressed codec. no matter what you set it for, no compression performed.

FCP’s media management will not easily do what you are suggesting. If you really must use this workflow (not everyone does), you are probably better off with Avid, which is far more robust in media management.
I think you owe Mark an apology. Though you didnt care for his answer, it was not out of line. Feel free to blast me too, if it makes you feel better.
