This is more a rant than a question, but I’d like to hear other’s feedback on this issue. We are a smoke/flame facility with about 20 Maya seats, so we use a lot of image sequences because you can’t render quicktimes on a render farm. Recently we installed an FCP system and we were amazed to find that you cannot import image sequences! I know there are workarounds (convert in QT Pro, making a subclip of 1 frame edits, etc.) but image sequences are a daily part of professional production and should be a basic part of any pro editing app.

I dunno. I see where you are coming from, but in 11 years of broadcast editing I have only had to work with an image sequence a couple of times. I don’t think its high on the feature request list or they would have implemented it. Since the capability is built into Quicktime it couldnt be that hard.

I guess we use them more in commercial post that you guys do in broadcast. As I said, everything coming out of our 3D department is a sequence, and for us that’s a lot. You’re right, it shouldn’t be that hard to implement it. How does one request a feature? Do we send an email to Apple? Anyway, thanks for the input.
