PAL and NTSC do not exist in HD. They do not exist in

You may have accidentally set the timecode display to “frames”.
Control click over the timecode display and set it to timecode.

Final Cut 4.5 does not support multi-channel audio clips. That capability was introduced in FCP 5.

Hopefully the forthcoming 5.1.2 Update will deal with this problem.

How about removing the “Shift Fields” filter, so FCP can’t apply it.
It’s located in the Final Cut Pro App bundle…
Control click on the App icon….select “Show Package Contents”
Then look in Resources/English.lproj/FXScripts/Filters/Video
Remove the filter called “Shift Fields.txt” and put it in a safe place (in case you need to put it back)
Sorry, I cannot fully test it, as I do not have any HDV footage, but I can attest that removing it causes no ill effects to FCP.

Try selecting “play base layer only” in the RT Effects Pop up menu. It makes FCP ignore effects that require rendering.
Not a perfect solution, but it may help.

Yes. They have software codec for just that reason.

FCP 5.1.2 is supposed to come out before the end of the month and will have support for BWF files.

Zip the file first. This should prevent the resource forks from being stripped out.
Control click on the file and select “create archive”. The editor who recieves the file just has to double click it and it will unzip.

QuickTime Uncompressed 10-bit mov
The Apple Uncompressed codecs (8 and 10 bit) are installed with Final Cut and are not available for PC.
You might want to use try Blackmagic Uncompressed Codecs, which are available for both PC and Mac.
