Of the decks you listed, I believe only the BVW-75 has 4 channel audio, if thats important to you. It also has on-board TBC controls.
The BVW-75 was considered the top of the line in its day, and is what most broadcast users use.
The PVW-2800 and UVW-1800 were more aimed at industrial users..they only have 2 channel audio (but you may encounter some that have a 3rd party modification to work with 4 channels). The 2800 has TBC controls, however the 1800 requires an external TBC controller.

The 1600 and 2600 are playback only. The 1600 does not have a proper RS-422 machine control port, if I remember correctly…only RS-232..so machine control might be a problem. (not 100% sure about this). I dont know anything about the 22.

If I had my pick, I would get the 75 or the 2800. They are solid machines.

Its probably because the Kona card handles the DVCPRO HD scaling in hardware (its an anamorphic format), which is normally a good thing, as it gives you more realtime capability, but the Blackmagic Decklink card does not do this (it uses software based scaling). The rendering may have to be done differently for the two cards in DVCPRO HD. Just a guess.

AJA would know the answer for sure…worth a call.

Created some sample media as Uncompressed HD in After Effects. The Gradient Wipe seems to work correctly here. Not sure whats up at your end.

Which Easy Setup are you using and what is your Video Playback set to in your Audio/Video settings in FCP?

Not true.

Run Disk Warrior or a similar utility to be sure its not a directory problem first.
If that doesnt help, it could be hardware problem with your RAID. Could be a bad drive or RAID controller.
Who is the manufacturer? You will probably have to talk to their tech support.

I can’t see how that would be possible. It could cause things to appear offline, but I dont see how it could delete the files from your drive.

Ah.. well the “clip well” is for adding a custom gradient.

The transition seems to work correctly w/o a clip in the clip well in DVCPRO HD 1080i.
I’ll try to mock something up in Uncompressed HD to check a transition, but my drives arent really up to it.

Are you using a DV sized gradient in the clip well…if so, it might be really tiny in an HD frame.

I just tried it in a DVCPROHD sequence, and everything seems to work fine.

Avid is not a Quicktime based editor, as FCP is. I suppose they could have built that capability in, but they chose not to.

You may be able to add the timecode after the fact using Sebsky Tools, using its add Timecode feature.
