Basically what I would do is a basic rough edit using multiclip. This is basically just an assembly of the performance….then you will “tear it apart” as Ben said. Instead of the maelstrom of clip blading and moving that Ben suggests, I would match frame from the sequence back to the multiclip (s) to find bits I want to take out of sync, and then cut those in. But ultimately its all about what you are comfortable with and how your brain works to be creative. Ben’s way works well for Ben. There is no right and wrong if the results are good. Play around with different workflows until you find what you like best.

Your deck doesnt have component connections.
It does, however, have S-video. The Kona can output s-video, but you need to buy a special BNC to S-video adapter cable.

Look up multiclip in the Help manual.
Way better than stacking them.

Can you refer to the Auto-Save version and re-enter the codes using the Modify/Timecode command….or are there hundreds of clips, which would make this a huge pain in the ass?

people were having this problem with Quicktime 7.1.3 and various versions of FCP 5.x.
You might want to make sure you are updated to 7.1.6

Shane, I think the vhs was for reference…he probably captured from beta or DV using the BITC he saw on the VHS…but maybe I am wrong.

What version of FCP?
..this was a bug reported awhile back, but has since been remedied, I believe.

In my humble opinion you would be crazy to offline this in FCP if you have the option of offlining on Avid.
Still photos will not appear in any EDL. EDL’s only understand 1 video layer and only sources that originate from tapes.
The best way to move projects between FCP and Avid is Automatic Duck…but I dont think it would work that well considering all the stills you will be using. FCP and Avid handle stills completely differently….Avid does not import hi res stills the way FCP can.
