Check your preferences. You may have a capture limit set.
It’s also not a good idea to capture to the internal drive, even if you intend to transfer it later.
The drive might not be able to handle a long capture and the tasks put on it by the system and OS reliably. -
For NTSC, yes.

Check your field order settings. HD is upper, SD is lower. If it got flipped somewhere along the line, the image quality will be bad.

You are much better off going with Avid for this. Avid and FCP use different media. Avid is not Quicktime based and FCP is. You can work around it with Automatic Duck (sequences only), but if your whole workflow is based on being able to pull media easily, you are really much better off with Avid.

This gets asked a lot.
There is step by step instruction right in FCP Help (in the Help Menu)… go to page 609 and read the section where they do this very effect with a red bicycle.
The page number is accurate for FCP 6.x, in US English. Might be different elsewhere, but it will be in the color correction section.

Tell us what Easy Setup you used in FCP and how you configured the Kona Control Panel.
Also… If your footage was in fact DV50 and not HD, doing a center crop is a significant loss of resolution. (you are cropping out lots of pixels).

Do you have a Kona or Decklink?
The 1440 “thin raster” frame size is more processor intensive than full raster 1920 as it must be scaled up on the fly. Kona cards do this in hardware which takes the burden off the host processor.
You might also try turning off realtime scopes if you have that turned on. I have seen that help with DVCPRO HD, which is also needs to be scaled.

You can convert FCP markers to podcast markers in Soundtrack Pro.
Can’t give you a step by step, as I am not in front of a system, but I have done it and it works. Check Soundtrack Pro Help, I think it’s in there. It’s not just for audio podcasts… It work with video podcasts too.

You know your colors will not be correct, even if you manage to get this to work. The full screen computer display is RGB and not the correct color space for video.
