Clone your boot drive now with DVDSP on it. Even if Lion or some future OS won’t work with DVDSP, all you have to do is boot off that drive and you can make your DVD.
Otherwise…you have to start looking at Bootcamp and PC alternatives, if you don’t want to use Encore.

Currently testing it with Blackmagic Decklink Studio. Was nearly unusable until the latest beta driver was released. Now seems very good…will be pushing it harder this week.

I think older versions had a limit to how many objects could be contained in a bin.

FYI
With the latest beta of the Blackmagic driver, I no longer get a red line for Canon DSLR H264 footage using the Blackmagic preset. In fact, its totally realtime. No bar at all.

Just keep using DVDSP. It hasn’t changed much since Studio 2… nor has anything in the DVD spec.
Clone your drive, as has been suggested, as insurance.You can still do you encoding in Compressor 4, and author in DVDSP.

Its still using half your video ram, which leave less for the Mercury Engine to work with.

Kinda weak? This is what every NLE other than FCP X offers. And FCP X isn’t exactly popular with a whole lot of people, despite the sync by waveforms feature.

If you have software that can only run in Rosetta, clone your drive (with Rosetta) now and boot off of it when you need to run that software.
The last PPC machine was made over 6 years ago. It wasn’t going to be supported forever.
