Avid the same behavior. Not sure about Lightworks, but I believe it also has the same behavior. This has been a part of NLE interface behavior since the beginning. I came from tape too, and it took me about a week to get used to it.
Mark out includes the same frame you are currently looking at. Just tell yourself that over and over.
I’m surprised FCPX didn’t change the paradigm on this, as they seemed to throw every other NLE convention out the window.

The projector may need to be calibrated for Bluray.
Does your disc have bars & tone?

FCP 7 will let you do it, but your audio will be out of sync with the video output of the Decklink/AJA card on many configurations. If its truly in sync with yours, consider yourself very lucky.

MC 6 does not support Adrenaline hardware.
MC 6 requires 64 bit. There is no 64 bit driver for Adrenaline.
Are you running 64 bit?

You can actually get a GTX 470 to work (even a PC version will work, sans boot screen) with the latest Nvidia drivers. I got it to work, as an experiment.
You will get Resolve to function, but the performance and stability will be close to unacceptable.
I actually got slightly better performance with only the 470 installed. Having 2 cards got worse performance, as illogical as it sounds. Probably due to the bus issues. There can only be 1 16x card running at a time in the Mac Pro 1,1.

You’ll probably want to update avid MC above 6.0.
There are many bug fixes in the latest update.
Avid is still supporting both 6.0 and 6.5 Roth updates.

Not psychic. I have a Decklnk Studio 2 and was the poor schmuck who reported it to BMD first last year. Cost me a lot of time and caused some new grey hair to grow in until they fixed it.
Just go to their website and download the current driver package. This bug as been resolved. The performance in the trim window and using “caps lock” audio scrub still sucks, but its usable.

I think it’s not as simple as adding a toggle switch to the interface. If you allow video monitoring via Blackmagic/AJA card but use the system audio, you will need some sort of mechanism to deal with sync issues that arise.
