    Hi everyone,

I’m working on a fairly straightforward project — 720p, 23.98 (DNX 60 transcoded from DVCPRO HD AMA P2 files). I’m importing some music and sound effects from a library and they come in fine. However, when I start loading clips into my source monitor to play them the whole system freezes up consistently. It’s only with audio that this happens. Has anyone run into this problem?

    Thanks!

Do you have a Blackmagic card.?

This was a bug with an early Avid compatible driver. Update to the most current one and all will be well.

John, you’re a psychic — yes I’m using a Decklink Studio 2 card. Not sure which driver I’m using at the moment, but it’s probably not the latest. I will update. Thanks so much for the help!

Not psychic. I have a Decklnk Studio 2 and was the poor schmuck who reported it to BMD first last year. Cost me a lot of time and caused some new grey hair to grow in until they fixed it.

Just go to their website and download the current driver package. This bug as been resolved. The performance in the trim window and using “caps lock” audio scrub still sucks, but its usable.

It’s always the worst having to be one of the first to discover a crippling bug. I feel your pain. Thanks again for your insights — once again proving the beauty of these forums.

You’ll probably want to update avid MC above 6.0.

There are many bug fixes in the latest update.

Avid is still supporting both 6.0 and 6.5 Roth updates.
