yes 6.0.1 might work but you may as well try with 6.0 first just to be safe.
As far as sdi into the kona, convergent designs makes a coverter and of course aja does as well. I would capture to something better than hdv, dvcprohd or prores 422. If you don’t need to deliver hd than just capture to prores 422 SD. Hope this helps. FCP 6.0 doesn’t have prores to my knowledge….. Might be wrong though.
    Good luck.

Big problems is right. If you can, go back to FCP 6.0 no 60p but your camera will connect and you can cut your 24p stuff. Otherwise use your kona to import from the component outs of the HD200. It’s really inconvenient for FCP users right now who have ProHD footage on tape. Good luck, there are many who share your pain.

The only work around at this point is a Firestore.
This is really a crummy situation for JVC users who depend on FCP.
Sorry man, best of luck to you.

Yes, with the Firestore, as you know, it’s plug and play. The HD is good and all the controls on the camera are where you’re used to them being. Go for it. I have a JVC250 Body (low hours) available if you’re interested.

if all you’re using 60p for is slow motion then open it with cinema tools and conform to 23.98fps and then import that file to your 24p fcp sequence.

if you really despise shooting in SD at 60p than yes 60i in hdv would be your next best bet although it still won’t be the same as 60p. Just try it out and you’ll know when you see it.

You’ll need to shoot in ‘squeeze mode’ to get the 16:9 aspect ratio. It has it’s drawbacks but it works. Just click the ‘anamorphic’ tab for the sequence settings in Premiere and your set to go.
