    in “play” mode and “record” mode the video( shown in particleIllusion ) is sometimes slower( inversely proportional to the number of emitters * the size{w x h} of the output ) than real time. However, once recorded to a movie file the video WILL playback at normal speed.

    Sorry but not sure I understand your post. Please give a clear description of the issue and any error messages you have received. It is also very helpful if you list your OS type and what you are attempting to do with particleIllusion.

    Richard,

    Make sure you have the latest version 3.2.2. You may need to rebuild the index, delete all files in:

    “C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\wondertouch\particleView”

    and

    “C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\wondertouch\search data”

    Then rerun particleView, you should get a “building index” window with a progress bar.

    the files(s) should be downloaded to {USER}/My Documents/wondertouch/particleIllusion_3/Updates

    The only file you should find there is wtupdate.exe if the update went well. SO you will likely have the particleIllusion, pIllusionRender and particleView updates there if you checked them all for download.

    If you do or don’t find the files there please post back.

    yikes that sounds like you editing a library file which is a real, real, real bad idea. So for now it seems to me the only way to do what you want, would be to “tweak” each one individually.

    Maybe Alan has a different idea?

    is it possible for you to check the versions of particleIllusion and pIllusionRender and post them? pI is easy just do Help->About. pIR click the [?] button under the [render] button in the pIR dialog. Also can you provide the specifications of the wmv file you are using for a background? You can generally R-click->Properties->Summary to get the info but you may also have to click the [advanced] button.
