My understanding of MOGRTs is that, while both are used in Essential Graphics, the ones created in AE are different from the ones created in PP. I know you can open a MOGRT in AE, edit it and resave it, but I’m pretty sure once it’s in Essential Graphics in Premiere, it’s wrapped up.
As for adjusting leading in your MOGRT, you might try adding the Increase Tracking effect to your text layer, delete all keyframes, then add a Slider Control and parent the Tracking Amount to the Slider. That Slider can now be added to your controls in Essential Graphics.

I wonder if Content Aware Fill in After Effects would do the trick.

Update: I was able to get the system back from the prison. When I opened Vegas and imported an MP4, I got a message that said something like, “Okay, the AAC codec is installed.” So apparently, it needs the internet to do that housekeeping before it can work with the files.
Thanks, guys!

Colin Smith used to work for Adobe and has a YouTube channel with lots of tutorials and tips. In particular, look for a playlist called Start Here.
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6npGHFAQO7c3Jb5ajfXbnHG-HOBQAq2GLynda.com will give you a deep, systematic dive on starting from scratch in Premiere, and you should be able to get through it all within a month’s subscription. You could hang onto the subscription for an extra month in case you need a refresher.
Just a couple of thoughts….

Including some details about your setup would be helpful.
– OS, CPU, RAM
– GPU
– What kind of storage and how is it connected
– Where do you keep your cache
– What kind of 4k footage, and are you using proxiesYou should be cleaning your cache every day (Preferences>Media Cache>Delete unused cache files).

As useful as Essential Graphics is, it’s still not as developed as we all hope it will eventually be. Short of drawing it with the pen tool (totally hit-and-miss), you’re probably destined to take it to Photoshop, Illustrator or AE. Or, as someone else suggested, try the Legacy Titler.

May 2, 2019 at 7:35 pm in reply to: How does Premiere treat clips ‘below’ others on the timeline during export?Or make a copy of your sequence and, in the copy, move all the active clips onto the bottom track. Start with the topmost track and move all of those down one, then grab all of that track and move down to the bottom. Then the system won’t even have to think about the ones you’re not using.

April 24, 2019 at 3:38 pm in reply to: Editing Tele Show/Need recommendations for iMac/HarddriveOliver’s suggestion should get you started. But you should understand that 4k (or presumably UHD), depending on how it’s recorded, can slow down a system. You would be well advised to create ProRes Proxy proxies for your 4k/UHD material. This will make editing a smoother process.
