Thank you all very much. The simplest suggestion, which I tried and it worked, was to pre-render the sequence. The other methods I simply haven’t much experience with. Certainly the parent-child concept I have never focused on, and it is bound to be a very useful tool as well. Is there perhaps a YouTube video on it?

Thank you for the info. Vegas 9 is becoming….old. I wonder if there is a “10 PRO” I can buy, or wait for. There is a “Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 10” available via Amazon, but I wonder if it would have reduced features…

Ah, unfortunately there is no such box to check. There is only the “Position”. Something is missing. (Is it a plugin?)I checked Vegas 7 and it had the same situation.

Thank you, Theo. Unfortunately Ctrl+Alt+D had no effect. There must be another way to “lock down” the Timeline so it does not jump and cover the whole screen, when any part of it is clicked. (Then it can be dragged down to reveal what was above, but that’s not helpful.) Hopefully there is another way….? Also to show the other windows normally, on the top part.

There were two qualities of YouTube renders, normal and higher. There were also listed as “30” and “25”. Not sure what that means, is it NTSC and PAL? (And if so, why would there be a need for two versions, since they all go to the “same place?”)
Also: There appears to be a vegas “shortcut.” Project/Upload to YouTube (withe the choices of quality.) But it wasn’t clear whether Vegas would also save the rendered video ~ didn’t want to try it that way. It looks like an .mp4 file, would it go to the created “Renders” folder?

Thanks again. The videos were all “MPG4″s shot with a Nokia Cellphone. Maybe that has some bearing on the case as to why they did not degrade. But I will certainly keep the issues you kindly provided in mind, when shooting “regular” video.

Hello Rick, and thanks for your thought. As it turns out the issue was solved* (please see my previous posting) but in response to your Question I was running a new “upsample” LG Brand DVD player using an HDMI cable into a “Near-HD Ready” (1080 line) Samsung 32″ Flatpanel TV. So I think that “bad cabling” was not the problem.
Before my last attempt, there were definite “jaggies” (but not shimmering) on a picture showing series of fishing rods on a bridge, with a sky background. (Thin lines somewhat diagonal to horizontal.) After my last setup, the fishing rods showed up very clean – not perfect, but far superior than the original.
* Solved, but it’s still not clear to me why there should have been a problem to begin with.
