    Hi,
I have not tried this before. I expected the tool (something like a pen nib) would show up on the “Event Pan Crop”, but it does not. Only “Position” shows. I would like to mask unusual shapes such as people (not circles, rectangles etc.) But I cannot find the way to do it.
What am I doing wrong, Please?
    Thank you,
    John

Click in the box that says Mask, directly underneath Position.

Ah, unfortunately there is no such box to check. There is only the “Position”. Something is missing. (Is it a plugin?)I checked Vegas 7 and it had the same situation.

It’s standard with every version of Vegas Pro I’ve ever owned.

Are you using Movie Studio or Vegas Pro?

It belongs to a friend and it says: Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9.0.

(I guess I cannot figure out how to post a .jpg file. I followed instructions but it will not “copy” the “Embedded”, it will only copy the link, so I did so.

That’s your problem. Movie Studio does not support masking. Only Vegas Pro does.

Thank you for the info. Vegas 9 is becoming….old. I wonder if there is a “10 PRO” I can buy, or wait for. There is a “Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 10” available via Amazon, but I wonder if it would have reduced features…

You can wait for 10 pro. It hasn’t come out yet.

That doesn’t have masking either so you’ll have to buy the Pro version if you want masking.
