Until the camera is released to testers no one will know. With the BMCC and Pocket camera there was footage months before the camera’s release. IMHO, it’s a bit ominous we haven’t seen footage. BM must not be happy with what they are seeing in the lab.

There’s a tool on the Sennheiser site that maps out freq use by city. Also, once you have the mic, there’s a function where the g3 listens to its local rf environment and picks out less used freqs. You should run that at each location you record since the NY area is awash in rf. The details of how to do that are in the manual.

You can impart some organization to the files in the import window by clicking the column headings. I usually sort imports by timecode (sorting by reel # is also good) as that lines up easily with my shot lists. Not sure about the camera designation. It may be how FCPX sees EX1 footage. My MXF files show up on a drive under the Devices heading.

I started a second event, importred the same media and everything worked as expected. Something must have been corrupted in the first event. I’d love to know what was wrong.

Still no luck. The files are on the drive. When importing I can see all of them and play all of them. When I open the P2 folder in Media Import all clips “come alive” in FCPX, but it still does not export them. I get the same error message as before. The one strange thing is the clips in the Event are in a “No Data” folder. I don’t know what that is. I’ve never seen it before. Other clips from this card archive imported fine and work (and export as expected). When I highlight a missing (red) clip and try to relink, no clip appears in the Relink Files dialog box. I’ve tried to delete then re-import the errant files, but they just appear in No Data and still won’t export.

I am baffled.

Did the lav track go away completely or is there something understandable there? If not, then I’d try to line up the Zoom to the good lav audio just before the problem area. That will get the Zoom audio to the right area of t he track. The next audio should be what’s missing. Then, look for a mouth movement early in the take that corresponds to a sound on the track like an “m” where the lips are closed. Slide the track frame-by-frame until the sync looks good. What a pain. Good luck.

Yes, it’d probably affect the range as the signal needs to be stronger to punch through the squelch. But, it’d also be harder for the offending signal to punch through. I have no idea how much it’d affect the range. If you can get in that room to test, you can determine if the range is ok and if you still hear the interference.
