I’ve not done this exact kind of effect, but I’d suggest you experiment with shooting on a green screen. Suspend the guy with a wire or two so you can orient him the way you want. Shoot him full frame and CUs as desired. Also, a large fan so his hair and clothes move in the “wind.” You’ll need to remove the wires in post. Plan out your shots so he’s looking in the right direction and “noticing” things in the park. Maybe he waves a couple of folks. Be sure to test (from green screen through post) before shooting for real.

Years ago I directed a video shot on an airplane interior set. There were a couple of dolly moves from the aisle in to seated characters. To this day I hate myself for not having the camera op sit on the dolly with the camera on his shoulder so there was some slight life/movement in the shot.

Thanks, Denis. The drive did spin up. He tried putting the drive back in the KiPro, but it did not see the drive, either. Fortunately, he was able to dump it from the one Mac that could read it.

Be sure to turn Frame Controls on and choose the highest quality levels. Doing this will add to compression time, but also will bring greater quality.

You might want to checkout the new Schneider Xenon-FF primes While the CP2s are based on still lens designs, the Schneiders are said to be based on cine prime designs. I’m no expert about this, but I’ve read some excited reviews of these new primes.

My 2 cents on grounding. In the studio we use star-point grounding. That means we only ground the shield of a cable at one end – the star-point. (We use our patch bay as the star point.) As long as a cable is grounded at one end, the shield works. Part 2 of star-point grounding is to ground the chassis of each piece of gear to the same star point. We use isolated ground a/c receptacles. The a/c receptacle is colored orange. (You see them a lot in hospitals and other places where proper grounding is critical.) The ground of each orange receptacle has a direct wire to the a/c ground at the panel, and this is also attached to the star-point. This approach best avoids ground loops. If one end of the shield is lifted, no current can flow. That said, we don’t use star-point in the field as it’s a bit unwieldy, if not impossible. We do carry ground lift adaptors for a/c and xlr cable as that can help with ground issues in the field.
