The Freedon of the Seas site is done in Flash 8. The spokesperson is keyed over the large background using the On2VP6 codec which allows use of alpha channels in Flash. If you look closely you’ll see how the spokesperson is a loop as she waits for a response. For more detailed answers to your questions check out the Flash forum on the Cow.

Try MPEG Streamclip. It can take a DVD apart in any number of ways. I Don’t know the url off hand. Google it and it will come up.

I’ve seen a tutorial to do this. It was prbably here on the Cow. I don’t remember if it was using FCP or AE. Try searching the Cow tutorials.

Don’t forget when you export your QT from FCP to select DVD Studio Pro Markers in the Markers drop-down. Otherwise they won’t be transferred.

This is an excellent discussion. I have one minor suggestion. Use a program like Squeeze (you can get a Flash-only version) to encode the flvs. It has many more options than Flash 8 encoder.

There’s no way to remove echo – unless you’re the NSA :). However, you mentioned it’s bassy. Try applying some eq to reduce the the low end and see if that helps.

While everyone else still seems to be using the venerable RE20 it looks like Imus has a RE27. Notice the difference in the windscreen at the front. The RE20 is divided in two sections while the RE27 has just one. Also, the RE27 has the black band by the XLR.

It might be field dominance. Try changing the setting for that in your sequence settings from lower to upper or vice versa and see what happens. It’s in Sequence > Settings > General Tab > Field Dominance.
