I checked my documentation and here’s the link for Stib’s Transitions https://www.fxscript.org

If that doesn’t work email Stib at: stib AT fxscript DOT org,

If that doesn’t work, I can send you the latest Stib’s that I have. His license (which follows) allows free distribution of the plugins. Let me know how to contact you.

Check out CGM. They have a number of wave transitions that they call dissolves. Also Stib’s Transitions has one. BorisFX has a bunch and CHV’s Distorion Collection. Google those and the sites should pop up.

And while it copies the files off each P2 card, then it can make simultaneous copies to up to 3 destination drives.

You said you had a mirrored RAID. Isn’t all the data still on the other drive that didn’t die?

  • You can also use the optical input on a Mac if your mixer has an optical out. I’ve found that to be better quality than line input.

October 19, 2008 at 8:46 pm in reply to: Spikes or Surges in Electricity?

It’s always a good idea at the very least use a surge protector. We have UPS units for all our gear so we can properly shut down our equipment if there’s a power outage while we’re working. That happens more often than we like in our area.

October 10, 2008 at 9:54 pm in reply to: Speeding up P2 offloads

With a Duel adaptor into MBP using P2 Genie with no verification (our version doesn’t do verification) a 16GB card takes 8 minutes to off-load. Then we play a bit of each clip to be sure it’s ok. We’ve switched to Shotput P2, but haven’t used it in the field yet.

Check out the lavs from Voice Technologies. https://www.voicetechnologies.net/ Our soundman on a recent shoot used them and they sounded great – even when hidden.

September 27, 2008 at 7:23 pm in reply to: Audio drift. What’s going on?

I’m not an expert in this, but I think the difference might be whether the Pro Tools session was set to drop or non-drop frame. I did a quick check in Pro Tools. I set the cursor to 13:15:00 drop frame. When I switched Pro Tools to non-drop the time became 13:14:06 – a 24 frame difference.
