October 20, 2008 at 2:21 pmCan’t be done. Either P2 or Focus. You cannot send a signal out to a bare firewire drive. You MIGHT be able to send a signal to a computer running FCP, then to a firewire drive. But that won’t garner the same time code as is on the P2 cards, and you are tethered to a computer and drive.
Might…I haven’t tried it. Why do you want to do this? P2 is pretty hardy. Only data loss has been due to human error.

the director I work with it is first time to use the P2 so he is so worry to loose any shoot so he need somthing to be sure all the files will not loose , so what you suggest to let him be sure all the data will be in safe
not like one from this forum lost every thing
do you have safe workflow from P2 to PC do you suggest to me the best thing I can do to keep all file in safe place

October 20, 2008 at 3:37 pmGet SHOTPUT P2 (www.imagineproducts.com). It will copy the files off the card, verify the copy, and make sure that EVERYTHING is copied.
