    dear …
    I need solution to make backup copy from the P2 while I ‘m shooting like fire wire HDD , so the camera store in the same time on fire wire HDD and on the P2

    but it is not in the same time I must change my Camera to make host 1394

    Can’t be done. Either P2 or Focus. You cannot send a signal out to a bare firewire drive. You MIGHT be able to send a signal to a computer running FCP, then to a firewire drive. But that won’t garner the same time code as is on the P2 cards, and you are tethered to a computer and drive.

    Might…I haven’t tried it. Why do you want to do this? P2 is pretty hardy. Only data loss has been due to human error.

    thank you for your response
    the director I work with it is first time to use the P2 so he is so worry to loose any shoot so he need somthing to be sure all the files will not loose , so what you suggest to let him be sure all the data will be in safe
    not like one from this forum lost every thing
    do you have safe workflow from P2 to PC do you suggest to me the best thing I can do to keep all file in safe place

    Get SHOTPUT P2 (www.imagineproducts.com). It will copy the files off the card, verify the copy, and make sure that EVERYTHING is copied.

    And while it copies the files off each P2 card, then it can make simultaneous copies to up to 3 destination drives.

    Ideally, you can have someone available on set to copy and verify the footage. This will add an additional person to the shoot.
