If you have a bunch of clips strung out along a timeline you can nest them, and then apply the t/c reader filter to the nest. You should get a t/c burn with the time taken from the timeline.

How full is your scratch drive? I’d suggest running Disk Warrior on your system drive. You might try to delete all your renders with the Render Manager. It sound like media corruption somewhere.

How are you capturing the audio? Are you using a mixer or is it embedded in SDI? If SDI, in the capture > clip settings tab you can turn off tks 3 & 4 to preview and then turn them on to capture. If through a mixer, just mute channels 3 & 4 on the mixer.

Usually you need to supply the serial number of the version you are updating from. If going from FCP Studio 1 to FCS2 you probably need 2 serial #s – one from the old FCS1 and one from the new FCS2. If simply going from say FCP 6.0.4 to 6.0.5 I don’t think you need a s/n.

I think the only way you can do this is to install the Perian QT component. That will allow you to open the flv in QT (probably Compressor and MPEG Streamclip, too). If Compressor works I’d use it. Make sure you select the highest quality choices in the encoder tab of the inspector. However, your final results may be disappointing as you’re starting from a highly compressed, fairly low datarate source.

I second Dave. Whenever I have an audio weirdness, I do an Audio Mixdown. And it never hurts to trash prefs, repair permissions and run Disk Warrior.

There are many threads discussing this topic. The short answer is while the Viewer is using QT to display the image, the FCP Canvas is an approximation. If the Viewer’s set to 100% you are seeing the best you’re going to see there. What I suggest is you finish a short test project all the way through to completion and see what it looks like on the web. Then you’ll know.
