Okay, so last night i saved all from two sequences i had in FCP 5.0.1. I quit FCP and any other programs, ejected my external hard drive and have just turned on my imac this morning.

Usually when i open FCP it automatically opens up my last project, but this morning its opend a completely black sequence, with no option in file to open recent.

what the hell has happened and where on earth could they have gone.

    please help…

Where did you save your project? On the external drive you unmounted? Find the project and double click on it.

    All the best,

I’ll suggest doing a Save As and remembering the location you save it to. I keep all my saved projects in one place so I know where everything is. Make sure you also use the autosave feature.

Only you know where the file was saved to. FCP doesn’t randomly save projects to different places unless told to.

I suggest you trash prefs, repair permissions and run Disk Warrior. It sounds like the OS isn’t liking something.
