Open the music file in the Viewer, set in and out points around the chord and Insert edit to your timeline. Or, you can Blade around the chord in the timeline, Copy that and Paste at the head of the program. You may have to use and audio dissolve and/or keyframe the audio so it blends properly.

Action and Title Safe were created because in the era of tube TVs, a lot of the TV tube was covered by the TV cabinet. Varying amounts of the screen would be blocked, so someone (no idea who, maybe SMPTE) came up with the idea of a percentage of the screen (to the outside) considered safe (10% for action and 20@ for title). Today’s widescreen TVs appear to have less of the screen covered, but the concept of safe areas remains. And there are still many tube TVs in service.

I assume you want to capture the output from the switcher. You say the switcher output is going to the client monitor. Is it also going to the AJA? What’s connected to the AJA video input? How’s the audio getting to the AJA?

Checkout this link at Imagine Products. It’s a database program that could be used with an LTO drive. https://www.imagineproducts.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=7

Try panning the audio in your clips in the timeline left and right.

It’s probable that someone set your FCS 2 FCP to 44.1 kHz. Check the sample rate in your Sequence Settings – Audio Settings. I suspect it’s 44.1kHz on your FCS2 computer and 48kHz on the FCS3 computer.

I’m not sure why you want to do that, but if you do, double-click the clip and then in the motion tab in the Viewer set the Scale less than 100%. The picture will shrink. Realize if you do this, on some monitorsthere will be black around your picture.

How’s your drive formatted? It sounds like it might be FAT32 instead of Mac OS Extended. Also, there is a setting in FCP System Settings > Scratch Disk tab that can limit the capture to a specific size.

I’m not sure what you want to do, but if it’s to use the transferred QTs from one computer on another computer, copy the qts to the other computer, then simply Import them to FCP. If you want to use the MXFs directly and avoid L&T check out Raylight for Mac https://dvfilmstore.com/raylight-for-mac.html, MXF4MAC https://mxf4mac.com/ or Calibrated Software https://www.calibratedsoftware.com/MXFImport_Mac.asp.

In FCP go to Log & Transfer in the File menu. Click on the Add Folder icon in the upper left of the L&T window. Navigate to your external drive and select the folders that contain the Contents folder and Lastclip file from each P2 card. All your clips should open in L&T (on the ledt). When you select each clip, you can play it on the right. You can set in & out points, select how many audio tracks you want, and name the clip. Click “Add Clip to Queue” to transfer the clip to your scratch drive. Now, whrn you look in the FCP browser, you’ll see the clip. FCP has transferred the MXF files from your external drive and wrapped them as a Quicktimes. If you look at your scratch drive you’ll see the QT file there.

A note: Archive the MXF files. DO NOT TRASH THEM. They are your camera masters.
