That’s not advised. Your OS is constantly “checking” with your system disk and those “interruptions” mess with video (dropped frames, etc.) that must be played out (or captured) in realtime.

Using the ADC with a FW drive may cause problems. We use an ADC to play video with Pro Tools and if another FW device is connected at the same time as the ADC, the Mac becomes very unhappy.

Run DiskWarrior after your install. It’ll fix up your directory. This should be done even after a clean install. I just did a clean install and it was amazing how messed up the directory was.

If you have a Kona or similar I/O card or device you can simply play it out in real time. The card will add the pulldown. If it has to be a file, Compressor can do it, although, not as well as the Kona. Be sure to enable Frame Controls in Compressor’s Inspector and choose Best for all quality settings.

Yes, PS can do it. Open the image then go to Image Menu > Mode and select RGB if it’s CMYK or anything else. Hopefully that’ll work for you.

I’ve no idea why you can’t copy your render files. Sounds like something’s not right. Are the files locked for some reason? Not having them only matter when you want to work on your project in the future. Then you have to re-render.
