When you export a movie it will render during the export, if needed. And, I’m fairly certain this render is not saved. So, when you go back to your sequence you’ll still need to render. I always render before export.

Here’s a link that might help. If they don’t have the track you’re interested in call ASCAP or BMI (or whatever performance rights org is on the label) and ask them. You can make this happen, but it can take a while as often many people are involved in the decision (record company, producer, songwriter, performers, etc.).

This could be caused by a software or hardware setting. Describe your workflow, computer setup, software, how you get signal to your monitors, etc. Then folks will be able to help you out.

First off, ProResHQ is not a good choice. Search the forum for all the reasons why. ProRes422, ProResLT or even proxy are better choices. What version of FCP are you using? Also, I don’t think your G5 is within spec for ProRes. I believe the minimum machine is a 2.5GHz G5 Quad.

As you apply filters or increase quality settings in Compressor (or any encoder) the encode time will go up. So for tests to be meaningful each encoder should be doing the same thing. Of course the quality of the finished product should be the final measure.

Unless you inadvertently double-clicked the button, this shouldn’t happen. Trash prefs and repair permissions and see if that helps. Does the number of clips in the queue affect whether you get two copies or not? Does it double transfer with just one clip in the queue?

I’m assuming this has worked before. Has it? Is any other FW device connected? Although, Macs may have a variety of FW ports, there’s only one FW controller. Often, adding a second FW device can cause both devices to stop working. So, if there’s a second device, remove it and see if that helps. Also, the old standard trash FCP prefs and repair permissions might help.
