What a great detailed review Adam – I’ll go away for a few days and consider your comments and have a good look at the 60D and the GH2.
For the record Gary I’ve been shooting on a ~ Sony VX1 for my most of my vid journalism but I’ve been bored with the limitations for a while. I’ve been known to shoot digi beta and RED when the budgets are there.

Does anyone in this debate/discussion actually work for Apple? They are the missing voice here. From the outside they seem to inhabit a remote mountain kingdom where they issue the occasional decree when it suits them. Does September 22nd/23rd coincide with some sort of ancient in-house ritual where they make offerings to Darth Vader?

Thanks for the great discussion. I’ve been told FCP doesn’t like stills over 4meg in size but to always use Tiff’s – but why not jpegs which are comparatively a much smaller meg size while retaining scale, is the quality difference that great?

Yes this subject has been tackled many times on these forums – the culprit in my case is usually oversize stills

Hi Michael,

Did you get anywhere to the Vegas to FCP? I had a similiar issue last year and found it quicker to reconstruct the (50minute)program cut by cut. Now my worst nightmare has returned – the client extended the original Vegas version (it was a doco) by 30 minutes and wants it redone, I’m back to square one.
