Photoshop Extended won’t accept Zaxwerks files but it will accept an OBJ. There’s no reason why you can’t grunge it up a bit more inside AE – after all it has plenty more tools than Photoshop. In Photoshop Extended you can adjust the colors of the texture maps but it’s pretty limited. I suggest you try some bump maps in Invigorator and perhaps some color correction… but as JOHN D. suggests it would be good to see an image.

We’ll the more cores the better, especially now that AECS3 supports multi-processing but the key is RAM, you need to throw loads of it at AE to get the most out of all those cores. My suggestion is go for a 4 core and put at least 4 GB ram in it, with more if you can stretch it. No sense having 8 cores if they just sit there idle.

You need to activate the 3D switch for the layer. This will give you the extra Z dimension.
