I’ve just experienced the same thing although I was working in DVCPro HD 720 30P. I’m using software version 7.9. There seems to be a 7.9.6 out there but there’s an error every time I try to download it.

There’s also a driver called BlackMagic Desktop Video Macintosh 8. I have no clue if that will work for me or not as I’m using an older card. (Decklink Extreme HD)

Man, I wish they had a little better information on their website.

    Thanks for your response.

The project file is only 59 megs. I’ve downloaded a trial version of FCP Maintenance Pack. The Crash Analyzer suggests that FCP was overloaded. I have some Motion files in the timeline, but not a huge amount.

What do you recommend for an mpeg2 encoder?

Thanks for your response. I guess I’m still a little confused. What I was told is that would be shot in the Panasonic setting for 1080i 24P. The final product is video so there’s no need for it ever to be truly 24 frames per second.

I guess when I’ve done this before in SDI I always just edited in 29.97 and it’s been fine. Is there an advantage to using 24pA and removing the advanced pulldown during capture? And what happens if they need to mix in any footage that wasn’t shot 24pA?

    Again, Thank You.

  • Thank you. I’ll give it a try.

Hi. I’ve been reading these posts about using the HDR-SR12 with Final Cut. My business partner bought one of these is asking me how to make it work. I admit I’m confused how some of you are using it when it doesn’t have a firewire interface. Do you need move all the footage to a drive first and then is there a way to use log and transfer to convert it to the Apple Intermediate Codec?

Sorry I haven’t actually seen the camera yet, I’ve only been reading some online.

Any advice would be appreciated, even if the advice is take it back and get something else.

Thanks for the help. What’s weird is that with the panics yesterday and today they don’t seem to be writing to that panic log. There’s ones in there from months ago and those do mention cpu 0 data access, but the last 2 panics are not appearing in the log. I’m in 10.4.9 so I think they should be showing up.

Never mind, I just figured it out. It depends whether or not the linked buttoned is highlighted when you first bring the clip onto the timeline. Thanks for putting up with me.
