Eric, try this:
https://helpx.adobe.com/after-effects/topics.html(that‘s the help I get from AE) and enter your query. Then on the next page press the radio button for “Only Adobe Content” it’s right below the big search box. That will remove quite a bit of the links to videos and tutorials.

Along with what Stephen said, another method would be to create a Null object, parent all the layers you need to move to the null and then move the null. All you layers will be moved without adding any keyframes.

I would add Film Grain and perhaps some dust like effects to make the film look older. Andrew Kramer did a tutorial you might be interested in seeing. Old Film Look
Another treatment you could add is the use of film burns—some people use them as transitions. Anyway you can download some free ones HERE.
If you have some specific looks you are trying to recreate, if you linked to some specific examples it will be easier to help you create your effects.
