You could create a new HD comp, dump all your old SD stuff into there, and then substitute the HD footage with the SD stuff. But you will still need to tweak everything to get it right.

I don’t think you can export menu’s as QT’s out of either of these programs. Only work-around I can think of is just burn the disk out of DSP and then rip it with MPEG Streamclip. Pretty sure you could capture the menu that way. BUT, might not look great depending on what resolution you are working at in FCP.

I wonder if this client’s logo has EVER looked good in NTSC. Many times have I had to convince the client to use another color. I avoid red like the plague when I know it has to be keyed.

mp4 could likely be your problem. Try transcoding to another format (animation maybe?).

I wouldn’t suggest AE for this but it’s capable. All it is is cutting 1 different frame of footage every frame from 2 different sources. Much easier in an NLE than AE.

You could try bringing the files into compressor, and make the highest quality H.264 QT you can. Turn on frame controls to deinterlace. THEN, make your WMV from that. I know it sounds weird but it’s gotten me out of many WMV woes before.

Do you think the video takes a quality hit by running it through streamclip as opposed to analog? Streamclip is just unmuxing the files and exporting to whatever codec you choose. How is analog any better? The files are already compressed.

Plus you can mark an in and out in streamclip. U don’t have to rip the whole disk
