Yeah you don’t want VFR for Prores. That VFR is on the newer drivers and it had me all screwy for a bit because it’s the default easy setup now for HD @ 23.98. (At least on a Kona 3)

Doesn’t make sense that if you are saving the project it doesn’t update.
Anyways, you can change you keyboard shortcut for command+S to be Save All if you want. It’s what I did but only because I hated being asked if I wanted to save all my projects when I go to quit. -

Short answer: Things look very different on a computer monitor than on a broadcast. If you want to work blind it’s up to you.
Computers are progressive, NTSC is not. Major color/gamma shifts in HD as well.

If you are doing this upon ingest you can set it in the SD to SD conversion panel in the kona. It’s either H Crop or V Crop, don’t remember which.
Otherwise you can change your aspect ratio in FCP to 33 and scale up to fill the screen (Looks better if you do this in after effects though)

This sounds like it could be a reference issue. Not sure about your kona but the kona 3 has a section where you can switch your reference.
Might want to try that.

I KNEW there was a way! My coworker had to do this years ago and I couldn’t remember his solution.

I don’t think so but I could be wrong.
Workaround would be to export a .aifs of the sequence, duplicate your sequence to retain your edits as a backup, and cut in the .aif on the track you want in the new sequence.

AE is definitely not the right tool for this. Just bring the material into your NLE of choice. I would think the material isn’t just randomly placed about so it shouldn’t take that long.
