Yeah I have to deal with this a lot. Either I downmix my audio and mute 1 side of a stereo pair so I get a correct sense of levels, or I temporarily set the output of the channel to 1-4 so I can hear it.

Am I missing something? Can you not just mute out the tracks you don’t want to hear and then downmix?

It’s option + E, then release, then press your letter. (there are a number of different accent shortcuts, this is just one. you can google the rest.)
If you are still just getting a space it means that the font doesn’t support accents. Try another font. -
yeah just make sure to monitor that on a broadcast monitor. That red/yellow high saturation color combo tends to bleed excessively. Looks fine on the computer monitor but broadcast is another story.

We haven’t updated to the latest FCP so no 4444 here. Either way this is gonna cost you quite a bit.
Generally a 30 minute HDSR is 250 bucks.

I wouldn’t bother with quicktime conversion. Just go to file > export > quicktime movie at your current settings. Self contained or not, doesn’t really matter.

This sounds like another reference issue. Kona 3 here but there has to be a way with the IO.
I’ve had this problem before and pretty sure that fixed it.

Implement some sort of system where all the computer folder hierarchy’s are the same. People usually set up their computers differently.For example, every computer at our work is set up this way under each’s admin folder.

Then there are folders in each feature folder for AE, FCP, QT, SCRIPTS, ETC.
Makes things a lot easier to find on another person’s computer.

what happens if you turn off both open GL and multiprocessing?

No, it’s 33% down on the y-axis. Load your footage into the viewer, go over to the motion tab. In the distort pull down change the aspect ratio to -33. That will give you a 4×3 letterbox.
