Thanks John for all the insightful advice. It has been quite a few years for me doing any studio work. I played as well and did most of the other jobs. Owned a lot of my own equipment until the family grew and then I moved. We used MAC in the studio but I used PCs at home and at the time the MAC would read the PC files but not vice versa. Lots has changed since the late eighties. Still do my own tracks and such using Logic Pro but nothing for hire, just fun and to keep my feet wet.

As a side note John with regards to VOB files and such. Whenever I have tried to drop a VOB file or rename it and drop it on the time line it will truncate it to a very small portion of the original. The properties will show all the correct info however with regards to file size and length. In prior conversations with SONY about this they simply stated that VOB is not a supported format and that the import function is the only way. I’m not crazy about that function as it has it short comings. Renaming has never tricked the software for me as it still will truncate it. If this was easy it would not be so much “FUN??”

Curious to know if you recorded the original audio along with the musicians or you added that later? When I used to be in the studio we striped the tape with SMPTE code so that all the machines were always in sync and could be triggered. Still miss the those days but would not trade the tools we have today to go back and do it the former way.

Back up to the basics first before getting to in depth. Since you said that restarting Vegas sometimes fixes the problem then I would suspect something else is at fault. My first suggestion is to reset Vegas to its default settings by holding down Ctrl shift. Also be sure you do not have anything else running in the background eating up resources. Run a check on your memory using any number of free downloads. They do a much more in depth check then the one provided on start up. Open your project and give it a new name, then delete everything but a couple of clips that are the problem. Delete all unused media as well. Then try rendering again to see if that helps. Let me know if this helps at all.

Since this is only happening on his system then I would suspect that the computer does not have the latest flash version. Try using VLC player to view them and see if that fixes it. Unless there is a setting in the player being used that is not set properly it surely has nothing to do with Vegas being the problem.

The easiest way to do this is to simply copy the empty button and then paste where you’d like. Otherwise you can select the button and it’s properties window will display the area to adjust the number manually. You would have to write those numbers for X and Y size down and then input them to each of your other buttons. That’s the long way. Hope this helps.
