  • I was unaware this existed…I will look into it today. Thanks very much Mike.

  • I burned myself a few times until I got my act together and stopped trusting drives to never fail and files to never become mysteriously corrupt. So now I make 4 independent back ups and continually save them. I also locate my DVD burn and file information in this folder as well. Maybe someone could write a script to alleviate this problem until then you have to do it manually.

  • One more point worth mentioning. Once you have created your duplicate folders on other hard drives when you are saving you project remember to use the SAVE AS function and save the changes in the other locations. I like to add the date to the end of the file name so I am always sure when I worked on it. Use what works for you. That saves me time when working at home and in my office.

  • The problem I have with using that function is you will lose all your folders and any assemblage of order you had. What that does is copy every file to one place. My personal rule is to use one main folder and as I go along all my files and directories are added to this one folder. That way if you need to copy a project to another location you do not have to search all your source media. There is nothing more time consuming then trying to rebuild a project and using the weak search function in Vegas to do it. It would be great if there was a way to automate the save function so that any new media that is added in on place would be saved as well in another. A little work now can save you a huge headache later.

  • If you are using just a still picture then I would use the Mask feature in PAN/CROP. If you are unfamiliar with this function look on You tube there are many good quick tutorials.

here is a good link. He’s doing Video that is more involved than just a still..

I personally would not want Vegas to load the last project automatically just in case there was a problem with the files causing the program to crash or hang. In your case why not by pass that and go back to the default setup then reopen your project and see if that helps. Just opening Vegas should not take long but if you are asking it to load huge files then it could eat up your resources in a hurry.
You can hold down ctrl shift while launching Vegas to reset it to the default settings. Let me know if this helps.

Sorry but I am still at loss to understand what you mean by track 2? Architect does not work with tracks as does Vegas and if you render it to another format then it will recompress it in Architect. Do you have subtitles or alternate audio steams?
I presume you meant that your second track in Vegas is the one that is the problem. Perhaps I am just missing the point here. How large is your overall project? Are you using any non compliant renders as part of the overall setup? What happens if you let Architect recompress the file? Do you lose noticeable quality? Sorry for all the questions just trying to get a grasp on what your situation is.

Did you render the audio separately? If you have rendered all your video in Veags using the proper template then it will not recompress your video or audio. Check that first.
