February 2, 2012 at 8:55 pm in reply to: Quick time 10 won’t play my .mov clip

I had the same problem after installing Lion. I could not preview Pro Res files.

I did find a solution I went to my programs drive > Library > Quicktime and (after coping the components to another hard drive ) deleted all of the components. I then restarted my computer and then I was able to view and watch Pro Res files in preview. I did have to install https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1396 Pro Apps Quicktime Components after that to watch DVC PRO files.

I am still having one problem that is only half solved.

Quicktime 10.1 (Quicktime X) will let me export files if they are under 5 minutes with the 480/720/1080 options and I get the video and audio together, a nice H264 file. But if I try to open with Quicktime X a video longer than 5 min it will only export audio not matter if I try 480, 720, or 1080.

Anyone found a solution to the exporting problem?

(and yes I know that I can use Quicktime 7 as a workarond that is what I have been doing since upgrading to Lion)

    Thanks in advance

Was there ever a solution found for this issue?

I am having a similar problem. Transferring P2 footage from HVX200. Huge color variance in the “Transfer” window to the FCP window…
The transfer window matches what I saw in the field…
I have tried various import options… anyone?

I don’t know about the Black Magic card but you will need the following plugin from adobe to capture HD from the XH-A1 in 24 fps.

Make sure the camera is on Standby not Lock and also make sure the downconvert option is off.

I have had the same problem with the XH-A1. This camera has a physical lock function near the record button it needs to be switched to unlock or else you will not be able to output HD and the option will remain grayed out. Then you can follow the previous instructions if it doesn’t automatically work. Oh and make sure it is not downconverting to SD.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks for all the input.
The army is actually just standing – maybe beginning their march forward. Kinda like the Braveheart battle line. Not fighting yet, but looking mean and aggressive. The tough part is my CG camera move is going to fly up and away – out of the valley where the army is – and come to rest at a crest overlooking the army.

I appreciate all the input and look forward to any more that might be out there.

Its actually not a P2 issue. I am having trouble with FCP log and capture crash with DV (tape) over firewire from the HVX.

    Thanks.
