Premiere Pro CS3 & Canon XH-A1 24F HDV
Hey Everybody,
I have been shooting DV(Canon GL-2) and editing in Premiere 1.5 for several years. Love it love it love it!
We are making the upgrade to Premiere CS3 and the Canon XH-A1 cameras. We are also wanting to shoot in the 24F mode.
What do I need to capture the HDV footage at 24F? What settings do I need? We plan on purchasing a Canon HV-10 or HV-20 to capture from.
Can I output and watch the HDV footage through a BlackMagic Intensity card out of Premiere CS3?
I fell like a complete DINOSAUR! 🙂 We have used Firestore FS-4’s to capture footage…but it looks like we would have to upgrade those as well…so that is out! 🙂
Having a rough day and hoping somebody can show me the light so to speak! 🙂

I don’t know about the Black Magic card but you will need the following plugin from adobe to capture HD from the XH-A1 in 24 fps.
Make sure the camera is on Standby not Lock and also make sure the downconvert option is off.
