    PLEASE HELP!!!

I am on FCP 5.1.4. PowerbookG4. External 600 gig HD.

I am trying to import from the HVX200 and everytime I tell it to log and capture it crashes immediately… no warnings.
The System does not recognize the camera on startup. And it doesnt give me an option to select the camera either.

I have tried resetting PRam, trashing prefs… upgrading to 5.1.4… I was on an earlier version.

I cant get this data off of the tape!

Perhaps the p2 forum will get you a faster answer as this doesn’t seem to be an AJA io problem:

Its actually not a P2 issue. I am having trouble with FCP log and capture crash with DV (tape) over firewire from the HVX.

    Thanks.

I hear you, but people will know how to put that camera into dv mode on the p2 forum. You have checked the manual I take it?

    Yeah,

I have read the whole thing many times over. I also have the HVX bootcamp DVD series…
    I did post on HVXuser.com…

    We will see…

    I may try reinstalling FCP….

    thanks.

And once you have put the camera in the right mode, you have launched FCP and then chosen the DV NTSC easy setup? Is the camera in tape mode (the little switch on the back)?

Is your io plugged in? If so, unplug it.
