  • I have a somewhat similar problem.

Mine is occurring randomly during playback of a sequence which contains video and audio … but I too will get an aural blast of something that sounds like audio feedback.

No clue as to why … other than possibly an incorrect setting in that particular sequence that PP doesn’t like when playing this clip audio?

  • Hi,

I actually started out using QT .mov files rendered with H.264 and have been replacing those with the .wmv files … so the sequences were established using those original .mov/H.264 files.

In the last few minutes, I have been testing proxy files rendered with the H.264 / MP4 format 8mbps VBR 1 Pass setting and they appear to playback without hiccups.

Although the result is about double the file size. if they will consistently replay in realtime maybe I should switch to this.

Back to your point … do I need to change each sequence to match these new H.264 clips and what will happen when I replace these H.264 MP4 files when I replace them with my master JPG image sequences?

Thanks so much for your help.

  • I certainly agree. Massive amounts of video data require simple workflows that are 100% reliable.

It makes my head hurt to work otherwise…

    Thx

  • Thanks guys.

Stephen, your suggestion is – by coincidence – basically the conclusion I also came to (although yours is more thought out).

Up to now, I too have been rendering H 264 placeholder efx files, with the same idea of coming back at the end of the edit and replacing those with the masters for final output.

Mine is a documentary, so I have also been importing stand alone, Premiere project files where I have edited the interview clips into the master project file. Probably stupid — as obviously I can do those edits and nest them in the master project file, but for organizational purposes I like keeping those interviews edits in completely separate files … mainly because on each one I have had to do heavy Audition noise reduction.

Or would you handle the interview clips differently?

Thats the direction I am headed for the reasons you mention.

Would this Seagate be a wise choice? Currently I only have USB 2.0 but could get a 3.0 PCI card…

I also use an Aluratek external dock for offline storage transfers and was thinking about just getting a bare seagate 1tb drive.

    Many thanks!

I sold my Nano. It can fly a Dslr and a wide angle liens like the Tokina 11/16mm, but it is difficult to balance properly — as the adjustment controls are not engineered well.

I now own and can recommend the Glidecam HD4000, but runs $570.

I have heard good things about this cheaper Chinese knockoff:

  • Uncompressed output will improve multi pass VFX especially green screen chroma keying (due to the reduction of artifacts in fine detail).

But as a general improvement, basically no…

That would be my first choice as well, but I have read in online forums that IS counteracts and actually is detrimental to stabilizers.

Do you disengage IS? Or do you use IS and experience an improvement – rather than a negative effect – in the video?
