Understand that you’re trying to work around the limitations of the format. Unfortunately, workarounds are seldom perfect.
It’s up to you, but I find working within the limitations of the format usually generates the best result. That’s why I don’t try to paint with an electric guitar, or play a chord with my paintbox. 🙂

That’s only half of it (and you don’t need to do this work in Photoshop) – you need to select the “Create Chapter Index” command.
Do a search of the help for “chapter index” and everything you need to do this will be revealed.

The DVD-Video format doesn’t support anything like this – in DVD-Video, button highlights are used to indicate the selected button. Button highlights are 2 bit graphical layer with no sound support.
However, you can fake this effect by using multiple menus, one for each button with the sound attached to the menu, link each button to its “sound” menu, and then use auto-activate feature on buttons to make the menu switch when the button is selected.
Beware this workaround gets tedious when there are several buttons in the menu, and will not work correctly on a software DVD player (you will have to click on the buttons to switch to the next menu).

Encore saves its transcodes to the project folder.
If you would like to transcode to another drive, then do a SaveAs on your project and save it to the desired drive.

If necessary, you can re-create the timelines in the exact order you want the video title sets to appear on the disc. You can also set any timeline to the Main Timeline in Disc properties – this makes the Main Timeline VTS 01.
Otherwise, timeline creation order determines video title set order.

Encore CS3 does not import FLA or SWF files – it’s primarily a DVD authoring tool that also happens to export to SWF (and Blu-ray).
Instead, try importing an AVI, MOV, MPEG-2, or H.264 video file. These are the video formats that Encore supports for import.

Do you mean a hard stop?
Most DVD players have two stop modes: soft (temporary stop, which immediately resumes from where you started if you play again) and hard stop, that you are describing. Usually a hard stop requires you to press the stop button twice on the remote control. Some DVD players have only a hard stop, and not two stop modes.
Executing a hard stop is a player function that can’t be directly controlled by DVD authoring.

Something called the DVD-Video specification, from which all DVD players are manufactured for functionality of the format, stands in the way… 🙂

Open the slideshow, select the audio in the slideshow editor, then hit the Delete key.
