You need to create a custom menu color set if you want an activated state that is different than the selected state.

This could be a Leopard incompatibility with Encore. Doesn’t happen for me on Tiger.

Just in case, make double-plus sure that you have no chapter end actions or overrides anywhere.

Do you mean a menu button to eject the disc from the player?

    That’s not possible with DVD-Video.

Set the end action of the timeline to chapter 1 of the same timeline – that will loop infinitely.

Then remove all overrides from your project buttons, menus, timelines, chapters, and playlists. Because only an override could produce the problem you are reporting.

Oh, and of course set the end action of the menu to the timeline you want to play.

You have the right idea – export the PSD, import it into Premiere, then animate the fade and export an AVI/MOV. Import that video file into Encore, set it to the video background for the menu, and then hide all the menu layers.

I haven’t seen this problem myself.

So how far off are your chapter points from where you set them? Are video and audio still in sync? Do you see this behavior in more than one DVD player?

The poster frame is an attribute of a chapter point. Setting a poster frame on a different frame than the chapter point is possible – as long as both are within the same timeline – and you will see the poster frame update in the linked button.

When you navigate the timeline using the next/prev buttons, it should go to the next/prev chapter point which you set in the timeline – not the poster frame of that chapter.

So is the problem that it’s really not going to the chapter point you set? Or were you expecting it to go to the poster frame?

It may just be a preview problem.

Try burning a DVD RW disc and check it in a DVD player.
