Seems something went wrong with your install. You could try reinstalling both apps.

If that doesn’t work, give Adobe Tech Support a call.

  • Encore CS3 supports all Blu-ray legal frame sizes and rates on the same disc.

If clips with different frame sizes or rates are put on the same timeline, they’ll all be transcoded to the project’s default frame size/rate.

Not exactly – if you transcode it to MPEG-2 before importing, there won’t be any need to re-transcode when you import it into Encore or build a DVD.

Setting chapter points could be a little problematic, as GOP headers are usually placed every half second in MPEG-2, and chapter points must be placed at GOP headers. If you don’t need frame-accurate chapter points, this isn’t much of a problem.

Before version 2.0, Encore had to immediately transcode QuickTime MOV files on import. There’s little you can do to control this in Encore 1.5, other than transcoding the MOV file yourself in another application.

Encore versions 2.0 and later don’t have this immediate transcoding requirement for QuickTime MOV files.

Take a look at the preferences for audio encoding.

It doesn’t help much in troubleshooting.

If you delete all the timelines, and then re-create them, does it still error?

If you have any playlists, they will show up with a green icon (I think) in the Project panel. Select it, then look at the playlist properties, which will show what is in the playlist.

If there are no playlists, try deleting the timeline, then select the video asset and create a new timeline. Does that error when you try to build?

Is the timeline in a playlist?

Also, if you select the video asset in the Project panel, and then choose File > Interpret Footage – what does its current setting read?
