Unsure exactly your need, but FWIW, we use mogrts that were created for our group that have alpha channels built into them. That allows us to reveal video after the opening animation (vs using a transition like a cross dissolve or wipe). We also have L3rd mogrts.

Maybe a mogrt with an alpha layer is what you need?

I believe the Transform effect with a bunch of little masks can accomplish something similar to what Vik recommends as well.

My first thought is to check the framerate of the exported video. Project settings may have been set correctly, but export may have been setup differently, especially if something like a preset was used.

I know on our C100s, all of our NLEs seem to know to automatically stitch together its AVCHD files, but not the mp4s from the camera. So Canon created a stitch tool to put those pieces together. Maybe Sony has a similar stitching tool?

Another thought might be to look at any theater and/or broadcast-styled higher-ed schools/degree programs in your area. Could be student about to graduate who’d love a chance to hone their craft and possibly add to a demo-reel.

Assuming a limitation of mics and inputs (e.g., four mics going into a Zoom recorder), what we’ve done in the past is just have the guests pass around stick mics. So one mic with the host the whole time (stick or lav), and then the others are stick mics that get passed around. Not ideal, but doable.

Optimize only pops if your footage isn’t natively optimized. In other words, more difficult to edit footage such as h.264 typically will provide the optimize check box. But if the codec of the footage is already edit-friendly enough, then the box stays greyed out and you’re otherwise good-to-go, at least from FCP’s editing needs.

I too couldn’t see the attachments. But my first thought was wondering about the type of bezier curve the keyframes default to. Mixed framerates w/ alpha channel seem to generate glitched exports. Workaround is to convert raw footage to same framerate as sequence.
