Lectern thumping solution…?

I just shot a lecture where the speaker’s podium thing keeps ‘thumping’ …

Can anyone suggest a way to remove this? I’m at a loss…

I’m not a super-user of Audition, so take this FWIW. But my first thought was wondering if that was a plosive into the mic? And even if not, wondering what impact applying the FFT effect would have (FFT -> Kill the Mic Rumble).

At least as a first pass. But I think ultimately, I’m not sure that you’d be able to get rid of it entirely, but could probably at least have some success at minimizing it by using the Spot Healing Brush Tool in the Spectral Frequency Display mode.
