  • Transform Anchor Point Fails with Shutter Angle

When I change the shutter angle in the Transform effect, the image anchor fails. The anchor position as show in the controls and by on-screen indicator doesn’t move, but the image no longer anchors at that point. For example, a rotation. If I set up a rotation around a center anchor (default position), it works fine. As soon as I change the shutter angle, the rotation anchors wildly off center, to the edge of screen or somewhere or beyond, I can’t tell exactly, and the image moves in a grand circle. Attempting to adjust the anchor in the transform effect is useless as the anchor point that shows on screen hasn’t moved. Whatever is happening seems to affect other positioning such as text blocks where enabling shutter angle in transform causes the UI position frame and the cursor to become offset from the visible position of the text.

Either this is new and was not happening only a couple months ago, or I’m failing to understand something in the Transform effect. Oddly it does not seem to effect presets when applied, unless I try to change their position.

Does anyone else see this? If not, is there something I should reset? Running current silicon version.

    Good afternoon Tod!

I do not seem to experience what you’re describing with the transform effect. I too am running on silicone and v23.0.0. Anchor point seems to hold no matter what I do with the shutter angle. Seems to be working as expected on my system.

    Joby.

If Premiere is misbehaving: reset preferences.

Last I checked the behavior is still unpredictable, though it may not be precisely the same. I suspect it is related to non-standard frame sizes. I have grown accustomed to working around it so I have not experimented with it much recently.
