No drivers needed. When you install MC, it will install the necessary items, and MC will see the Mojo during launch.

That should not happen unless there are overlapping tapenames & timecodes in your source footage.
Rather than consolidating the media, I prefer to copy all the media at finder level, then take the media to the other system. That way, you need not relink. You only need to manually update any newly created media on either system.

Is going to be no problem. Depends a bit on the framerate, you may want to import the clips in a format that matches the shooting format, then open the resulting bin in your 1080i project.

One more important thing, when doing custom exports, MC (or actually the QT engine) allows you to set the framerate of the export.

I have never seen that. All same-as-source QT exports I have ever done from MC 24p projects were 24.00fps, and so were any DV-PAL exports I did from those projects.
Sometimes the QT player’s playback speed would vary a bit around the 24 number when playing back on the desktop, but in principle, these QT’s were 24.00fps, and played back in perfect sync in audio post.

Do you have anything faster/newer that will run MC3.5? In that case, just download a 3.5.x revision from https://www.avid.com/US/support/downloads/version-updates. That features a 14-day trial. I think MC4.0 and later features a 30-day trial.
As it has been discontinued since Feb 2007, I doubt you will easily find Free DV.

If for DVD playback, the best bet would be to use the SD-DVD templates (MPEG-2). However, you may need to tick the 16-235 box, depending on whether or not you export as RGB or 601 from Avid.

There are two different ways to go to the next edit. One goes there and puts you in trim mode, the other just takes you to the next edit. I vaguely recall that in Xpress Pro, the keyboard mapping was slightly different.
Anyway, the buttons you are looking for are named Fast Forward and Rewind in the Move tab of the Command Palette.
Keyboard mapping would allow you to place those where you would like them.

I’d go for Same As Source. This will give you a QT in the very same resolution you have been working in. If you are working in (or rendering to) one specific resolution, a Same As Source export is one of the quickest ways to export.
You may also consider a QT Ref, which just points to the Avid media.In both cases you will let Sorensen do the compression, no need to precompress in Avid beforehand.

Pretty sure that this options reappears if you set keyframes (at the start and end of the clip).
