I have done hardware tests, repaired permissions, disk check. ALl turned up nothing. I have noted that it takes awhile to spawn the additional aelinks for the other processors, and asome time to quit them (viewed thru activity monitor) and AE does not like to be bothered when its doing that. If it keeps up, I’ll reinstall cs3 next…

Agree with you all regarding the relative relevance of pix vs line. What we are really trying to do is help her with the legal dept who is demanding the 23 (which would probably chatter like crazy anyway) scan line disclaimer lines. I did just lay it out (FEC requires 4% of height which works out to about 22 pix). Freaked her right out as its pretty huge when you are looking at 5-7 lines of offer disclaimer. PErhaps will be just an academic exercise for this project.

Know all about safe etc, but if you’re working in a D1 comp (720×486) and old standard def TVs have 525 lines, 23 pixels high isn’t a 1:1 ratio, no? We’re just looking for a way to have this person comfortable with their legal folks. 23 pix high is pretty whopping large for disclaimer…

Figured it out (soft of). Has to do with the fact that we have pushed daylight savings time switch back, but 10.4.4, even with automatic update on, updated my time. I changed it manually and then started having this problem. Just allowing the time to be wrong, with automatic update on has fixed the issue. Due to other software on this box I can’t go beyond 10.4.4, so I will live with the incorrect time for a few more days!

I have seen that in the past. I narrowed it down in my situation to an AIF files I was using for reference audio. If I deleted the audio from the project and reimported, I was good to go. IF you have audio files in the project you might try that.

    Ajmetz,

Believe me, no offense taken, but it is the PPC version. Thanks very much for weighing in. I have tried to contact M100 about it, but so far I have not heard back. Any other ideas? I am stumped…

Yeah, it just disappears. No crash reporter. I did look in console, but so far have not found anything. Any other suggestions?
