If you need something more complex than the two colors in Ramp, our Gradient tool is $49 and gives you the control of the PS gradient tool and more.

Try the Foam plugin with a custom flow map.

This probably won’t give you exactly what you want, but should look pretty good.

    cheers,
    Jim

For a ring, just make a very short cylinder. 🙂

Of course, if you own AE 6.5, you can upgrade to the full version of 3D Assistants for $99 and be able to make a ring by clicking the ‘Make ring of layers’ checkbox.

    >>If your project wants to veer toward instability, like me and mine, check this marvel from Dan Ebbert out:

    lol… Dan is f*ing amazing.

yep… that’s just Sinedots with a heavy glow applied to it. Transfer mode a gradient on top of it to colorize the different areas.

Sinedots has to be the best free filter out there. Cool stuff… although can be a little tough to get your head around.

    cheers,

Check out ReSizer in our Anarchy Toolbox plugin set:

    https://digitalanarchy.com/toolbox/toolbox_main.html

It provides a number of different algorithms for scaling footage, usually giving you a much better result than AE’s built-in scaling. Kevan O’brian of Adobe UK was showing off some footage of a TV movie he recently completed that used Resizer to go from SD to HD. It looked great and the director was very happy with the results.

We’re trying to get the rights to put it up on the digitalanarchy.com web site, but as usual it’s like pulling teeth.

But you can download the demo from the site and try it yourself.

    cheers,
    Jim

The Plugin Pavilion will be in booth SL760 this year. Unfortunately we could not get a large enough booth close to adobe this year.

Most of your favorite plugin developers will be there. Digital Anarchy, Trapcode, RE:Vision, GenArts, Synthetic Aperture, Red Giant, and more…

    cheers,
    Jim
