So, just to clarify. You want the logo to shatter into blocks rather than the flat polygons as displayed in the video?

Could you upload the extruded logo you are using?

Edit: Or just upload an example of a simple extrusion with the effects you applied to it?

    Hi Keith,

As I understand it, what you are referring to is simply the nature of C4D. It is not actually creating solid objects, but shells created out of polygons which then give the appearance of solid objects. If you are trying to use deformers like “Explosion” to break apart the extruded logo the result will be that the polygons comprising the shell will be spread apart revealing the hollow interior. If you want to end up with what appear to be solid pieces (though they are still hollow) of your logo moving apart, place your extruded logo into a Voronoi Fracture object and use “Random” or “Push Apart” effectors.

If this doesn’t help, please clarify what you are trying to do, and/or upload your project file (or a simplified version) so that we will have a better understanding of your goal.

Here’s a project file that may help.

The hair thickness is controlled in the hair material settings.

Make sure you have reversed the normals as I directed or the hairs will remain on the outside of the tube.

Instead of the Twist deformer, add a Step effector to the cloner and use the rotation parameter.

    One quick method:
    1) Apply hair to your cylinder
    2) To place the hairs on the inside of the cylinder, make the cylinder editable (C) and reverse its normals (Mesh>Normals>Reverse Normals, or U – R)
    3) In the Hair Object’s “Guides” parameters click on “Regrow” to refresh the growth of the hairs on the reversed normals

A quick guess: Deselect “Render Perfect” in the sphere’s attributes.

Use the Object mode of the cloner and place the spline in the “Object” window.

Since AVI is the only video format available in R14 I guess you don’t have access to MP4, and therefore no H.264 as well. I would suggest outputting image sequences (which is a good practice anyway in case of rendering glitches) and then converting them to your desired movie format in another program (i.e., After Effects). Or output as AVI and use a converter app for other formats.

I would have thought that only Maxon had control over which codecs were used, but if you think you’ve added some before you could contact Maxon support for help.

    Good luck.
