I have not moved any of the media. I even created a new veg file and it gave me the same message. The media is on a Raid 0 set of hard drives but I can’t imagine that is the issue. The other media I have on there works fine in my project. Is it only my problem or is anybody else experiencing this? Please help.

Lo and behold…Adobe sent me this email, they must have read this post.

Good News!!!
Thanks to David Tunnell’s reply above I finally got my free CS6 Production Premium download. I first switched to a different browser that I knew had never been to the Adobe website before. When I clicked on the Adobe email link it took me a site to choose my country and eventually to the North American Store. There I chose upgrade and add to cart. The cart indicated a $375 charge but also a -$375 Promotion so the total was $0. I also went back to my regular browser and cleared the cache and then that led me to the same place. So it is a cache issue. You do have to select to download it, Over 6 GB to download. You also have to give them your credit card number. All is finally well 🙂Intel 2.67GHz Core2 Quad CPU.

Thanks, John, but the NVIDIA Quadro 4000 looks to be about $750-$800+ which is way above my budget. The GTX570 is below $300 at some online stores and I expect it and the GTX580 to drop some more because of the GTX680 release. The GTX680 is really above my budget somewhat and I was hoping to hear that I would be just as well off with the GTX570/580. I don’t play games so that doesn’t matter. I’m still looking for the comparisons and recommendations.

Thanks, Mike, that solved the problem. Don’t know how that window got off the screen so far.

As I mentioned above, after I set up the photos with track motion I changed the project resolution to 1080 x 720 to render it. Unfortunately, I was using photos that were of very low quality scanned from a 1963 high school yearbook. Scanning them in very high resolution prevented further quality loss but then the track motion reduced it. Adding a few photos in 3D motion can make an otherwise 2D slideshow a little more interesting. Here is some of the motions I added with Track Motion.

This isn’t a bug. I’ve come to realize that the simple fact is when you zoom into a photo using Event Pan/Crop you are actually cropping off the photo. You don’t notice it because the photo has filled the viewing window. But if you use Track Motion and set it to 3D you can move the photo in the minus Z direction and expose the photo as being cropped off. This is why using Track Motion for rotation and Event Pan/Crop for zooming is not a solution to the original problem of loss of photo quality from just using Track Motion for rotation and zoom.
What a shame that Track Motion reduces the photo resolution to the project properties resolution. Photos can be displayed in motion in much more interesting ways using the 3D effects of Track Motion but the quality loss to high resolution photos restricts it’s use. I found a bit of a work around for my problem by increasing my project properties from 720×480 to 1080×720 and incorporating the Sony shapen filter but of course the render times increased dramatically.
Maybe Sony will consider modifying the Track Motion tool to allow it to maintain the event resolution as does the Event Pan/Crop tool. Until then I may need to have to jump in and out of After Effects to create more interesting slideshows…what a pain and waste of time, Sony.

Thanks, guys, but I already had set the match output aspect and there are only two keyframes used. One at the start and one at the end for both the Track Motion and the Event Pan/Crop, in fact, they both fall at the same time on the timeline. I think this may have something to do with the Track Motion only allowing for a 720 x 480 window and the Event Pan/Crop zoom setting falls outside of it partially.
Maybe you could try a similar motion with your own photo. The Track Motion starts (keyframe 1) with the photo rotated mostly about the y-axis(-37)and a small amout about the x-axis(-5). It ends (keyframe 2) with all values at 0. The Event Pan/Crop starts (keyframe 1)with match output aspect with 0 angle and zoom expanded to include the complete photo. It ends (keyframe 2) with 0 angle and zoomed into the approximate center of photo.

My thanks to everyone for their suggestions and comments. I was sorry to here that my photos are restricted to the project properties resolution when I choose to use track motion even though I get full photo resolution when I use Event Pan/Crop. That doesn’t make sense to me. I really like some of the interesting motions I can get with my photos when I use Track Motion but then the quality suffers.
Some of you said to use Track Motion for rotation and Event Pan/Crop for zooming. Well, that doesn’t work for me. I’ve included a video below that first shows the photo in motion with the rotation and zooming done with Track Motion only. The second video is an attempt to duplicate the same motion but using Track Motion for rotation only and Event Pan/Crop for zooming only. As you can see in the second video the top left side of the video gets cut off as the rotation starts and then as the motion completes the entire right side of the photo is cut off. If there is a workaround to this I’d love to hear it because this is not a solution.

Just came across this post…if you add a video track above the track with your media generator text and then make the media generator text track a child of that new video track you can then click on parent motion on the new video track and move all of the media generator text on that track at the same time.
Hope this helps.
