The problem is they offered me the Vegas “Pro” version with extra features and SF 14 for $199. But when I click to buy it it becomes the Vegas “Edit” version without the extra features nor SF 14 for $199. They should honor the ad they sent and sell me the Vegas Pro version for $199; besides I’ve been a loyal customer of Vegas for years and will continue to be.

Thanks, Jorma, but I’ve already seen that website. It doesn’t say what’s new for Vegas Pro 17. I was hoping maybe someone in this forum had some inside info that they might share.

Thanks, Steve, now which graphics card would you recommend…Nvidia vs Radeon for MV 16 and which specific mid priced card.

Thank you so much, Bruce, just the type of response I was hoping to get. I will skip the upgrade.

Thanks to all for your responses. Again, I’m simply looking for information regarding any and all differences there might be between DA 6 and DA 7 that some members might have already discovered. That way I can determine if it’s worth my paying extra for it. I’m going to upgrade to Sony vegas Pro 16 and the pro version includes DA 7 for $50 dollars more. Yes, it also includes Vitascene V3 LE. So, Grazie, the question can be answered if any member has used both versions. I appreciated Bruce’s search on the forum but I had already done that and Eric’s sugestion to download a trial version, but I was hoping to find a quick answer from a member’s experience since the Vegas upgrade sale ends in 2 days. I have also been using DA since version 5 so I am very familiar with it. My only beef with it is that it doesn’t offer the capability to add a stroke to the text, something I’ve requested from Sony and Magix several times. I’m surprised and disappointed no member can relate the difference between DA 6 and DA7. I guess I’m just venting a bit because I also have another post asking for info about choosing between an AMD Ryzen and an Intel CPU for my next PC build for Sony Vegas 16. No one has responded so far, seems like it would be a very hot topic for discussion. I’ve also searched the forum for previous posts but found none discussing the latest Ryzen CPUs covering the past year.

This forum would naturally be the BEST place to inquire about whether someone would have acquired both versions of DA and could tell me the difference, if any. Magix marketing would likely over promote their explanation and not necessarily offer a real use narrative.

November 15, 2017 at 6:00 am in reply to: Need GPU Evaluation for Vegas Pro 13 and BeyondThanks, Aaron, for your reply. Sorry for my late response, my backup laptop crashed and I had to find another computer to get back online and continue my search for a new graphics card.
Yes, I do wish I could upgrade my CPU and other hardware but it’s not financially feasible right now. I am looking to decide on a graphics card to get my system up and running and will eventually build a new system around it. I’ve been looking at tutorials and reviews on YouTube about Vegas Pro 15 and saw that Magix replaced the Mainconcept AVC/ACC with their own as in the photo below. And, they have added the NVENC compatibility. So my questions now are would the Nvidia cards with NVENC provide a faster render using that Magix NVENC encoder than the AMD cards with OpenCL? If so, than the Nvidia may be my choice to purchase. Also, are not the Nvidia cards better with Premier and After Effects which I also own?

I have found others that have had this problem with Windows 10 on the Vegas Forum so it is true that Media Manager no longer works. But according to some of the responders Magix has been notified about the issue and they have acknowledged it.

Thanks for your response. Sorry to hear you had such a bad history with MM. I don’t use Acid Pro and have not had any issues with MM thru several Vegas versions. On the contrary, I’ve come to love it. As I mentioned, I have a huge collection of audio and video files on a hard drive and they are all tagged in MM. So simple to open MM in Vegas and single click on a file. It plays in the editor window, then just drag the file from MM to the timeline. Of course it takes some time to set up folders and tag every file initially but then you save it as a library file that can be imported into future upgrades.
I have already been working with the latest download of MM…Ver 2.4 from Magix online. But it’s been Ver. 2.4 for several years. I hate to think that I may have to give it up if it is a Windows 10 issue.
